Jack Waltman is a 2029 LHP/1B/OF with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from Baytown, TX who attends Goose Creek Memorial. Medium build with some strength present and plenty of physical projection remaining. 7.64 runner in the sixty. Primary left-handed pitcher, operates from a full wind-up delivery with a medium leg lift. Separates into a compact arm path prior to release. Maintains his direction well as he moves down the slope. Has some more velocity yet to be unlocked in his lower-half. Fastball was located well throughout the zone, topping out at 80 mph with spin up to 2643 rpm. Mixed in a straighter changeup as well as a slurvy breaking ball with gradual actions. Secondary first baseman, showed feel for his footwork around the bag. Funneled the baseball cleanly and made quality turns to second base. Tends to release the ball from an over-the-top slot. Delivered accurate throws up to 78 mph across the diamond. Left-handed batter, starts in an even stance with a high back elbow. Utilizes a heel lift trigger for timing before working into direct bat path. Produced pretty consistent contact to the opposite field during batting practice. Limited extension and leverage in the stroke. Projects for more power with additional strength and minor mechanical refinement. Posted an exit velocity of 81 mph. Good student.
