2025 PG Midwest Indoor Showcase
Ian McClure is a 2028 OF/RHP with a 6-4 200 lb. frame from Reedsburg, WI who attends Reedsburg Area. Bigger athletic build with some present strength and tons of physical projection remaining. 6.90 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense. Showed a good approach. Works low to the ground with decent quickness. Some late turn over of the glove at times but gets to an out front reception. Decent quickness to release. Showed a hand-lead arm path into medium arm action that got off downhill throws to the bag with above avg. strength for his level with accuracy. At the plate, operates from a wider base with lower-set hands. Simple and quick trigger showing a small move into launch. Handsy steeper path to the baseball showing some early rollover of the barrel producing GBs to the pull side. Best results were some hard lower LDs back through the middle of the field. Flashes of some hand speed/strength to the swing. On the mound, worked from the stretch and used a medium leg lift raise to the waist. More drop/drive type mechanics down the mound. Used a longer arm action with some whip to a downhill release. Hides it well in the back. Higher over the top slot. FB in the upper 70s, T79 had some natural running action do it. Mid 70s CH showed some quality fading action and his low 70s SL had decent depth and finish. Good student. Named to 2025 PG Midwest Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
