Alan Mason -- Mason is a junior outfielder from Florida with two present big league average tools. Mason is a wiry live bodied athlete who runs very well. He ran 7.04 on the wet spongy grass in Fort Myers but we’ve timed him around 6.7 before and he might be a few steps quicker than that as he gets stronger. Mason also has a solid average big league arm from the outfield. Mason’s biggest challenge is going to be to add productive strength in his hands and upper body to improve his bat speed. He swings from a no load, no stride (metal bat) approach right now and while his approach is good and there’s some smoothness to his swing, it’s not real quick or strong. He does possess outstanding hitting ability and he's an excellent athlete. He's a highest level prospect.
