Alec Achterberg is a 2028 C/RHP/1B with a 6-1 155 lb. frame from Cypress, TX who attends Cypress Ranch. Taller young build with some present strength and room to continue adding. 7.33 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher with a 2.06 pop time, shows developing footwork and some arm strength with throws that stay online; release and transitions are still coming together. Also plays corner infield with feel for direction and carry, though arm stroke can get long and timing varies. Took an outfield workout as well, showing accurate throws with some carry from a long arm stroke and clean gather. Moves best in straight lines and fields through the ball with intent. At the plate, hits from a low, coiled setup with rhythm to the load. Contact primarily on the ground with scattered lift; working to clear hips and stay behind the ball more consistently. Has some raw power in there and shows feel for the barrel at times. On the mound, operates from a long ¾ slot with some deception and downhill angle. Fastball in the mid-70s, flashes spin and feel for both a slider and changeup. Projects as a physical multi-position athlete with tools to build on.
