Mason Desai is a 2027 OF/RHP/SS with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Fulshear, TX who attends Fulshear. Primary RHP with a medium sized frame and good athleticism. Throws from the stretch only with a belt high leg lift and drives off backside downhill. Throws from a standard 3/4 slot with a quick and loose arm. Gets over his front side well and consistently repeats mechanics. Fastball worked up to 90 with spins in the 2400 range. Showed excellent life to it and located well getting in on hitters quick. Curve thrown with intent and can really spin it. Curve up to 73 with spin traits nearing the 2700 range. Showed good healthy 11-5 shape with depth and feel to land it as well. Also flashed a change at 78 and killed spin with mimicked arm speed. Quality 3-pitch mix and should continue to trend up here. Also played outfield getting up to 92 from there with real legitimate zip out of the hand. Controlled footwork getting to the ball with a clean gather and works through it. Ball just jumps out of his hand and throws were accurate with big arm strength behind them. Also played infield and was up to 90 from across the diamond. Showed good footwork moving well to the ball and lighter on his feet. Gets across well and feet are there with feel. Fluid actions all around and moves well athletically. Has the actions and the slot and should continue to get better there. Also ran a 6.90 sixty. Right-handed hitter with a narrow base and starting slightly open. Uses a hanging knee lift trigger for timing and rhythm. Turns the barrel over well with big bat speed and strong pull side impact. Just an athletic operation in the box with rhythm and bat speed and swings it with intent. Showed strong hands, bat speed, and impact. Good Student. Named to the South High School All State Games TP List.
