2025 Scorpions (TX) Prospect Showcase (2026-2027 Grads)
Brayden Dennis is a 2027 SS/RHP/2B with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Brookshire, TX who attends St. Francis Episcopal. Long and lanky athletic build with some present strength and more to come. 6.98 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop with a quick first step to ball and solid range to each side. Fields ball out front and worked to a balanced gather at transition. Released from a three-quarters slot but showed the ability to change arm slot with accuracy as well. Right handed hitter with an upright, balanced stance. Showed good rhythm in swing with a line drive barrel plane. Flashed the ability to turn barrel with intent and drive the ball to pullside producing loud contact. On the mound utilized a shorter, compact released. Fastball generated run to arm side in the mid to upper 70's, topped at 79 mph. Breaking ball had 10-4 shape with solid spin and depth. Drops arm slot slightly with slider offering in the mid 60's. Also showed a changeup that produced some fall to glove side. Mimics arm slot well with FB, CB and CHG offerings.
