Colby Rasmus is a well built lean 6'2/183 LHP/OF from Phenix City, AL. He is a very good athlete with 6.82 speed in the 60 and a strong arm. He swings the bat well and hit a hard shot off a 93 mph fastball in Tropicana Field. He projects nicely as an outfielder and as a hitter. On the mound he threw 88 with a biting low 70s curveball. He threw a 76 mph change that showed some slower arm action, but still looked like a good pitch. He has thrown in the 90s and as a lefty that gains national attention. He's a highest level college lefty who can contribute very well as an outfielder/hitter. He could become a good draft pick as a LHP by next June. Colby is a very good student who should be recruited by all the top southern colleges.
