Jack Sarno is a 2024 RHP/1B with a 6-4 195 lb. frame from Newbury, MA who attends St. John's Preparatory. Extra-large, broad shouldered frame with room to fill throughout and develop physically moving forward. Primary righthanded pitcher, big side step moving into delivery, long and loose arm action through the back side working to a three-quarters release point; taller finish at release and can continue to incorporate additional lower half into drive down the mound. Fastball topped out at 78 mph with short sink, pitched to contact and worked around the strike zone. Feel for curveball developed throughout start, shows 11-5 shape when on top, occasionally drops slot at release, gets hitters off balance with the pitch. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate with an open stance, utilizes a high leg lift trigger for timing at the plate. Stays short to the ball and keeps hands inside, works to the opposite field, gets mistimed occasionally with front foot. Good student.
