Lucas Shannon is a 2025 C/RHP with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Tucson, AZ who attends Salpointe Catholic. Features a tall, high waisted frame with room to add. Right-handed pitcher. Threw exclusively out of the stretch. Utilizes drop and drive mechanics with quick tempo down the mound. Throws out of a high 3/4 slot with long arm action and quick arm speed. The fastball sat 81-83 mph with armside run. Offering jumps out of the hand. Has the ability to throw for strikes often. Works well to the armside of the plate. Pairs with a curveball at 71-74 mph with slurve action. Generates sharp, late break. Also showed a fading changeup in the mid-70’s. Maintains armspeed well on both offerings. A quality young arm with feel for three pitches. Worked out on infield and behind the plate. Arm strength translated across the diamond. Generates solid, on-line carry. Has the athleticism to change arm slots when on the move. Showed the ability to play backhand cleanly. Profiles well for corner spot. Threw 82 mph. Uses a side saddle setup behind the plate. Releases feet well out of crouch allows for quality ground to be gained. Quick transfer leads to accurate throws. Right-handed hitter. Utilizes a simple swing with a square stance setup. Leg kick timing mechanism generates quality bat speed on slight uppercut path. Looks to do damage. Makes loud contact fairly often. Approach stays through the middle of the field. Strength and swing mechanics lead to quality power that plays to all fields. Ran a 7.02 60-yard dash. Very good student. Named to the 2022 National Underclass West Showcase Top Prospect List.
