2021 National Indoor Showcase (Saturday)
Canon Cathcart is a 2022 MIF/2B, OF with a 5-8 155 lb. frame from Dardenne Prairie, MO who attends Westminster Christian Academy. Recorded a 7.24 second 60 yard dash time. Primary middle infielder with a quick transfer and release and feel to throw from multiple slots. Shows a clean glove and moves well laterally, made all the plays and kept his feet moving. Solid round. Left-handed hitter with an open stance and high hand and back elbow set. Busy hand load, can elevate the ball and makes good contact when on time. Gets off balance and flies open at times, shows a pull side approach. Tends to open the hips early and swing around the ball, short swing path, makes solid contact when meeting it out front. Has made nice improvements since we last saw him. Excellent student.
