2023 WWBA Underclass Workout Showcase (Sept 27)
Jake Hartter is a 2026 SS/RHP, 2B, OF with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Nokomis, FL who attends Venice Senior. Large, square shouldered frame with long limbs and a lean build, room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.57 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, glove works well at the ball out front and shows softness to hands, three-quarters slot on throws with carry and arm strength on to first base, maintained balance on the charge play. Deliberate actions to the ball in the outfield, works over front side well, clean with the glove, simple actions with a longer gather into a short arm stroke. Right-handed hitter, begins with an open stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate, utilizes a leg lift into a stride for timing in the box. Gets the hands extended out front at the point of contact, occasionally opens front side early in swing. Best contact to the middle and pull side parts of the field and works on a linear path through the zone, projects well with added strength. Excellent student.
