Thomas Ruehle is a 2023 RHP/2B, 3B with a 5-11 140 lb. frame from Setauket, NY who attends Ward Melville Senior. Medium, very lean build at this point with time to grow and add more physicality. Primary position RHP, working from the 1B side of the rubber and slightly offset to start. Nice loose transition and high leg lift to balance with strong consistent posture over the rubber. Gets into his back leg early and works down the mound very well. Hand break at the belt to a very long, full arm action slightly behind his body. Works into a nasty very low 3/4 arm angle and when he stays in line the ball jumps on the hitter. Did have the occasional big miss due to early rotation as his FB sat 73-74 and an emerging SL in the upper 60's . Secondary position IF, showing quick feet and good range, especially to his glove side. His arm played well and accurately as he handled the slow roller very well and threw accurately while on the move. RHH working from a narrow, even stance and a high hand set. Creates some length to the ball and uses a pull side approach for the most part. Progressively got better throughout his live BP session, especially when he stayed in the middle of the field with a line drive approach. Emerging bat speed and strength with more to come. Excellent student.
