Joey Ward is a 2023 OF/RHP/MIF with a 5-8 170 lb. frame from Park Ridge, IL who attends Maine South. Strong and compact athletic build. Right handed hitter, hits from a slightly open stance with a wrapped barrel start, well timed short lower half shift into his swing, rocks back and in, long and loose swing with some present bat speed, worked gap to gap with some impact and carry off the barrel, polished and confident in his approach. 7.06 runner in the sixty. Primary outfield on defense, work through the ball well and has a quick exchange and release into his throws, throws had on line carry and good accuracy. Looked solid in the infield on defense as well while showing his arm strength, same compact arm action with some carry on his throws, impressive ability to charge the ball for a primary outfielder. Solid all around player with skills and athleticism and defensive versatility.
