William Whitenack is a 2025 C/2B with a 5-9 140 lb. frame from Bayside, NY who attends Holy Cross. Lean, compact frame with room to add more strength as he continues to physically mature. Primary catcher, starts in a wider, squared set-up. Glove can get a bit heavy when receiving. Creates useful momentum when getting out of the crouch, stepping out at times. Breaks into a shorter arm path with some quickness in the arm. Delivered accurate throws to the bag with arm strength up to 65 mph and a pop time of 2.06 sec. Right-handed hitter, starts in an even base with a tight hand set-up. Utilizes a simple leg lift trigger for timing before working into a compact line drive stroke. Hands stay very close to the chest. Displayed rotational upper-half mechanics with a contact-oriented approach. Controlled the barrel well throughout the zone, producing soft liners to all parts of the field during his batting practice round. Recorded an exit velocity of 72 mph. Ran a 4.00 thirty-yard dash. Great student.
