2007 Rising Juniors National Showcase
Randy Myers is a 2009 C/OF with a 5'11'', 175 lb. frame from Riverside, CA who attends Riverside Poly HS. He has a compact build and a strong body that is suited well for the catching position. Myers is a good all-around player and frankly could have been listed in the top prospects list. His tools have a chance to keep coming on and eventually earn him a chance in pro baseball. For now consider him a good D1 prospect with a chance to start for most of his college career. Myers is an aggressive player in the box and behind the plate. Offensively he showed good bat speed and has present day power to the middle of the field. He is short to the ball and showed really good barrel awareness as he made consistently hard contact. He is a middle of the line-up type hitter at the college level. Defensively Myers was also impressive. He blocks and receives well and showed nice catch/throw skills. His feet are quick and he threw accurately, with a good arm. Myers plays with energy too. Major D1 programs should all over him next summer.
