Justin Weststeyn is a 2009 RHP/1B/2B/OF with a 6'2'', 150 lb. frame from Ballwin, MO, who attends Westminster Christian Academy. He has a tall and lean frame with athleticism and he is very projectable. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a long and loose arm with easy action. Weststeyn gets some zip through the zone on his fastball that topped out at 81 mph, and he is going to throw much harder in the future. He also mixes in a 70 mph curveball with an 11/5 break, and a 66 mph change. He has a good idea on the mound and he is close to putting it all together. Weststeyn has very good upside on the mound. At the plate he is a line drive hitter with solid bat speed. He makes consistent contact and makes adjustments with his hands. Showed the ability to hit to all fields, and he stayed on curveballs well. Everything about him is projectable, and he is a must follow.
