Sam Kay is a 2027 3B/RHP with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Commack, NY who attends Commack. Long and lean athletic build with some wiry present strength and lots more to come. Right handed hitter, starts from a straight spread stance with an inward hover trigger, stayed on time well, has strength in his swing with a slight uphill plane into contact, consistent square mid-field contact, created some back spin at times, projectable hitting tools. 7.42 runner in the sixty. Primary third baseman on defense, gets the glove out early and has some glove adjustability, throws from a side arm slot, loose and projectable arm, makes accurate throws. Took a turn on the mound, throws from a full wind up with a belt high leg raise and a low whippy 3/4's arm slot, loose actions on the mound with some deception. Fastball topped out at 83 mph with some running life. Change up was a nice pitch with arm speed and tumble. Threw a slurvy breaking ball with some depth. Interesting young athlete with some two-way talent. Good student.
