Ian Rodriguez is a 2024 SS/2B, OF with a 5-8 132 lb. frame from Vega Alta, PR who attends Piaget Bilingual Academy. Young, square shouldered frame with a lean build and room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.22 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, approaches the ball well with footwork, fields it out front and shows softness to hands, will continue to refine overall footwork in actions, controls body well on charge play, compact arm action on throws across the diamond, extra step moving through the ball. Longer arm action on throws from the outfield, young actions, works through the ball nicely, flashes some carry on throws. Right-handed hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate, upper body dominant swing, can continue to implement additional lower half into process. Shorter to the ball with swing path and best contact when getting extended out front, comfort working to the middle and pull side parts of the field, has some present hand speed to swing and gets the barrel through. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
