2024 High School All State Select Championship (2027-2028 Grads)
Maddox Rice is a 2028 SS/RHP/C with a 5-8 145 lb. frame from Jefferson, GA who attends Home school. Recorded a 8.02 second sixty yard dash time. Lean frame. Primary shortstop with solid glove work and working middle with a good fielding position. Works around all with developing arm strength. Secondary catcher works from a one-knee down stance with an over-the-top slot. Gaining ground with on-line throws. Also threw on the mound. The right-handed pitcher starts from a moderate lift with a full arm swing to a high three- quarter arm slot. Fastball (1789 RPM) was 70-73. Curveball (1678 RPM) has big pop out of the hand with some downer action. In the zone with both pitches frequently. Repeats the balanced delivery. Had some success working north-south and changing eye level. Switch-hitter starts from a medium base with a low back elbow, utilizes a hovering leg lift with a short, direct hand path with solid bat speed. Level plane with feel to barrel back up-the-middle to the pull-side. Intriguing player with a good ceiling as the frame fills out.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
