2007 Pitcher/Catcher Indoor Showcase
Andrew Keltner is a 2008 LHP/1B/OF with a 5'10'', 170 lb. frame from St. Louis MO, who attends Lindbergh HS. He has a short build with good present strength throughout. Keltner has a leg raise delivery with a pause at the top and releases the ball tall and balanced. His arm action is compact front and back. Keltner was almost exclusively a fastball/change up pitcher. His fastball was very consistent at 77-79 mph. His change up was his best pitch, with plus sinking and diving life at times. Keltner had a good feel for moving his two pitches around the zone and mixing them up interchangeably. He threw a couple of token curveballs at 57 mph but will have to develop a slider or cutter to have an effective breaking ball with his arm action. Keltner can be effective in short looks with his change up and command. Keltner also showed some ability with the bat. He uses his hands well, has hand quickness and showed the ability to hit the ball hard to all fields. Keltner is an excellent student off the field.
