RJ Martell is a 2028 3B/RHP, OF, UT with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Minneola, FL who attends Lake Minneola. Tall, lean frame with a good amount of room to continue adding strength. Ran a 7.30 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, corner actions with fundamentally sound movements on the dirt, hands get down early with some feel for the leather, mid body exchange and a long arm action to a higher slot. Gets throws across with solid arm strength and carry, recorded throws up to 79 mph. Secondary right-handed pitcher, full over-the-head windup, belt high leg lift, deep arm path in the back to a high three-quarters release. Ran the fastball up to 81 mph and worked comfortably in the 77-80 range (1704 RPM). Mixed in curveball with downer shape, up to 69 mph (1978 RPM). Also worked out in the outfield, athletic actions working through the ball, high three-quarters release and similar arm strength we saw on the infield workout, recorded accurate throws up to 80 mph. Right-handed hitter, wide base with an upright stance, uses the whole field nicely, developing strength off the barrel and worked consistently to the middle of the field when in rhythm. Tremendous student.
