2003 Sunshine West Showcase
One of the quicker runners in a very fast group, Ellis showed his speed on the bases and his lateral ability matched in the infield. He is a prototype second baseman who showed hitting and fielding ability that will draw a lot of College interest also. He hustled continuously, showed a quick bat with wood which was a pleasant surprise and he was an attacker at the plate. His level swing will produce hits and he is not afraid to swing at strikes. Some of the line drives he hit were harder than we expected out of a speedy middle infielder his size. He received good scouting comments by all our scouts and made the plays all weekend. He is a another of the good undersized players that can get it done better than most of the big guys. Colleges Coaches need to watch him. The more we did, the more we liked him. Good student.
