Evander Ziggy Avinion is a 2027 C/RHP/3B with a 5-5 140 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends Mira Mesa. Primary C with a small and compact frame and good athleticism. Knee down setup. Was athletic out of the crouch with clean exchanges. Clean effortless actions and gains ground through the plate while maintaining direction. Gets it out with pace and was accurate with his throws. Was up to 76 from behind the dish and recorded a 2.03 pop time. Fluid actions behind the dish and showed up in game too. Also ran a 6.97 sixty. Also pitched throwing from a standard 3/4 slot. Abbreviated windup from the first base side. Works downhill well and creates good arm extension over his front side upon release. Fastball worked up to 79 with late biting ASR and sink. Attacked the zone and hitters with intent. Flashed a curve that was shorter and is developing feel for this pitch. Still showed good projectable spin traits and should continue to develop. Right-handed hitter with a slightly open stance and good balanced setup. Coiled load into stride and showed a quick set of hands with bat speed. Uses the entire field well and creates length through the zone with his barrel. Stays short to the ball with a compact stroke that stays inside the baseball well. Hit tool projects with more power to come from added strength. Excellent Student.
