Brock Simpson is a 2029 C/RHP/OF with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from Fitzgerald, GA who attends Fitzgerald. Recorded a 7.31 second sixty yard dash time. Compact frame and lean build. Primary catcher works from a side stance with quick feet and gains ground with accurate throws and arm strength. Secondary outfielder with deliberate footwork into it with a clean gather and gains momentum and then tries to speed up with a deep offline arm path with a big arm. Also threw on the mound. The right-handed pitcher works from a hybrid windup from the middle of the rubber with a side-step into a letter-high leg lift and a long in-line stride down the mound. The hands start at the face before u-shaping into a compact takeaway and accelerates through from a three- quarter angle. Deliberate actions and stays under control on the mound. The fastball (1989 RPM) was upper-70s to low-80s and topped out at 84 with good arm-side run. Worked both halves of the plate with the fastball well. The curveball (2123 RPM) was in the upper-60s with 11-5 shape with good break that was able to keep hitters uncomfortable and was able to throw it for strikes. Change-up in the low-70s with some arm-side fade and some sink. Right-handed hitter starts with a high handset and a high back elbow. Downhill bat plane and collected a hit during game action. Exciting player with good upside. Excellent student.
