Luke Palermo is a 2027 LHP/1B with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Berkeley Heights, NJ who attends St. Joseph. Palermo works from a physical broad build with evident strength proportioned throughout. As a primary LHP, started from the middle of the rubber with controlled balanced mechanics displayed. He repeated a 3/4 slot well and maintained arm speed in the arsenal. Commanded the full repertoire successfully with the ability to kill spin on the CH at 1579 rpm. Knuckle curve was effective at creating late downward bite, SL presented solid horizontal tilt at 2250 rpm. Overall, did a nice job of utilizing the strength in the frame with solid push off from the back side / usage of the lower half down the hill. At 1B, Palermo showcased sound footwork around the bag with quickness to the turns. The glove was reliable with arm strength up to 84 mph across the diamond. Offensively, the lefty started from a narrow, upright stance with a compact hand set and high back elbow. He shifted the weight well through impact with clear jump off the barrel. Lots of effort behind the stroke, posted an exit velo of 90 mph. Ran a 7.23 sixty yard dash. Great student.
