2024 High School All State Select Championship (2027-2028 Grads)
Daniel Hornyak is a 2028 1B/RHP/IF with a 6-8 175 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends Poway. Recorded a 7.87 second sixty yard dash time. Lean and athletic frame with long limbs. Primary first baseman that was a solid mover and fielded everything clean. Quick turns on double play feeds with a lowered slot and accurate throws. Also threw on the mound. The right-handed pitcher works from a compact arm action that hides the ball a bit in the back with a shorter stride and lands on-line. Some natural downhill plane to the fastball (1731 RPM) that was mid-to-upper 70s and topped out at 80. Also showed a sweeping slider (1107 RPM) that he slows the arm down some on. Right-handed hitter starts from an upright stance with a strong lower half and a small leg raise with a rock back into stride into contact. Coiled bat load around head. Could impact the ball all over the field. When he gets level and on plane can really impact to all fields. Developing consistency to the bat path. Exciting player with good upside.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
