Mark Curi is a 2023 C/RHP with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Gulliver Schools. Medium, compact frame with room to add strength. Recorded a 8.78 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary catcher that received from an exaggerated side-saddled stance with soft hands and a fairly direct mid-line transfer. Works uphill to throw, gains some ground towards his target and produced fairly accurate throws to the bag during drills. Recorded arm strength up to 65 mph from behind the plate during drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked from a full windup delivery with a belt high leg lift and medium stride length out to foot strike. Fastball worked in the low-to-mid 60s from a deceptive near submarine arm slot and topped out at 65 mph in this look. Generates spin rates in the 1100s with his fastball, produces plenty of natural arm-side life due to slot. Mixed in sweeping slider at 60 mph that generated tons of swings-and-misses, while producing spin rates in the 2300s with it. Completed arsenal with tumbling changeup that he was able to garner plenty of weak contact with. Deceptive look that can improve with additional velocity. Right-handed hitter that hits from an upright, open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and inward hover trigger. Simple, repeatable stroke with flatter swing path and good bat-to-ball skills. Middle-of-the field approach with developing bat speed and impact potential, will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Good Student.
