Matthew Gravitt is a 2027 SS/RHP with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Overland Park, KS who attends Blue Valley. Medium athletic build with good present strength for his age and more to come. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with a big raise trigger, keeps his balance and timing well through the leg raise, has a strong swing and controls the barrel well, can turn the barrel over well and shows bat speed, projects well overall as a hitter. 7.33 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense, fields the ball cleanly and gets the glove in good position, more third base footwork and quickness at present, has some carry on his throws from a compact arm action. Also pitched, has a well controlled wind up with a 3/4's arm slot and clean release, long and loose arm action, gets some downhill angle on his pitches. Fastball worked consistently in the upper 70's, good plane and worked at the bottom of the zone consistently. Hard curveball was a solid second pitch with hard spin and some 11/5 bite to it. Threw strikes with both pitches and competed well. Well round athlete who will keep improving in all areas. Good student. Named to the Sunshine Midwest Showcase Top Prospect List.
