Gage Vanlandingham is a 2025 SS/RHP with a 5-7 135 lb. frame from Van Buren, MO who attends Van Buren. Works from a lean, compact frame with present athleticism and room to add strength as he continues to physically mature. Primary shortstop, works through the baseball with shorter, quick steps. Has some lateral range to both sides. Softness in the hands with a clean funnel process. Releases the baseball from a lower slot. Showed stiffer, pushy actions on the slow roller. Delivered accurate throws across the diamond and recorded arm strength up to 77 mph. Switch-hitter. From the right-side, starts in a wider stance with a high back elbow and high hand set-up. Inverted front-foot start. Utilizes a loose hand load and toe-tap trigger for timing. Worked into a flatter bat path and produced consistent contact to the middle of the field. Displayed some quickness in the hands that create whip to the barrel. From the left-side, starts in a similar stance and utilizes a hover trigger for timing. Showcased the ability to carry baseballs from gap to gap when timed up. Gets drifty at times. Recorded an exit velocity of 75 mph. Ran a 7.16 sixty-yard dash. Great student.
