Alex Byrd is a 6'1"-180 lb., outfielder from Leesburg, Virginia. In the outfield he showed some arm strength with 78 mph velocity on throws with fair carry. Alex has a catcher's type release on his throws and would probably improve with more extension. Alex is a right handed hitter with a no load approach, and a slight knee lift trigger . He shows above average bat speed, and above average hand strength. Byrd has a pull approach, with a line drive swing plane and he could get more leverage help from lower half. Alex has gap to gap power with more power to come. He shows athletic ability, runs well with good instincts. Alex is a very good student.
