Dan Ubl is a 2008 RHP/IF with a 6'2'', 210 lb. frame from Paul Park MN, who attends Park Senior HS. He has a mature frame with sloping shoulders and very good lower half strength. Ubl has a full arms over head delivery with lots of moving parts leading to a drop and drive type of release. Ubl's fastball was 81-84 mph and was flat in the zone due to his release point and delivery. His best pitch was a 69 mph curveball that had a big downer 12/6 break. Ubl didn't throw his curveball much but should; it's a quality pitch when he gets it near the plate. The story with Ubl's change up is the same, it has good quality and he should throw it more frequently. Ubl threw one 83 mph fastball that had plus cutting action, probably by accident, but that may have shown some slider potential. Ubl has lots of ability and could improve immediately with some mechanical adjustments. He is also a very good student.
