2024 High School All State Select Championship (2027-2028 Grads)
Weston Sykes is a 2027 SS/RHP/OF with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Summerfield, NC who attends Wesleyan Christian Academy. Recorded a 7.77 second sixty yard dash time. Smaller frame with slender, medium build. Primary shortstop with clean movements in every facet. Super low slot and adjusted well with solid arm strength. Secondary outfielder that attacks early with a big crow-hop with an over-the-top arm action and some backspin with slight carry. Charges hard with solid throws home. Also threw on the mound. The right-handed pitcher works from a drop-and-drive lower half mechanics and in-line down the slope. Flashes of stand-out arm speed to the three- quarter release. Comfortable dotting the 75-78 fastball (1944 RPM) to the glove-side and mixing in the curveball (1882 RPM) with some depth. Getting ahead with the fastball and missing barrels. Lived down in the strike zone and repeating mechanics well for the age. Right-handed hitter starts from a wide base with a high back elbow. Solid bat speed and can accelerate some with a line drive approach through the middle-of-the-field. Level plane with a longer swing path. Exciting player with a high ceiling.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
