Juan Herrera is a 2027 C/RHP/MIF with a 5-11 145 lb. frame from Dallas, TX who attends Dallas Skyline. Primary catcher who sets up with a side saddle. Has a quick transfer and release and gets ball out cleanly. Was accurate around the bag and is developing arm strength. Also played infield from an athletic frame. Uses a clean 2 hand gather and funnel out in front while working around the ball well. Has a quick first step and showed good range laterally. Made throws with good accuracy and will need to continue developing arm strength but has good fundamentals. Also ran a 7.88 sixty. Also pitched throwing from the full windup from a high 3/4 slot. Gets downhill well while getting into his lower half. Worked with good pace and filled up the zone with his fastball. Fastball was up to 78 and located well around the edges. Mixed in a curve and could drop it in at times. Right-handed hitter with an upright and narrow base. High handset with a big hanging leg lift into contact that messes with timing at times. Worked the middle of the field well and could impact it when on time. Good Student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
