Jael “JC” Castillo is a 2026 1B/LHP/OF with a 6-3 208 lb. frame from Wake Forest, NC who attends Pro5 Baseball Academy. Physical athletic build with broad shoulders. Ran a 7.46 in the sixty yard dash. Primary first baseman, comfortable around the bag with a quick first step, soft hands with ability to pick the baseball, good body control on the slow roller, loose arm with throws up to 75 mph across the diamond. Also pitched, fluid deliver landing slightly crossfire at foot strike, controls the body well down the mound, separation between the hips and shoulders, high 3/4 arm slot able to leverage the ball down hill, fastball topped at 84 mph with late sinking life, slider was short and tight and was a good change of pace to the fastball, feel to throw an advanced splitter with low spin and tumble, good combination of stuff and command. Left handed hitter, wide base with a high hand set an a high back elbow, fast bat with quick rotation in the hips, ball jumps off the bat, barrel holds its line throughout with extension out front, simple load and lower half actions, makes consistent hard contact. Excellent student.
