Marquis Johnson is a 2029 OF/RHP/3B with a 6-3 191 lb. frame from Chatsworth, CA who attends Sierra Canyon. Extra-large, athletic build with well-proportioned strength present and more to project for. Primary outfielder, moves through the baseball well and carries some momentum into release. Showed some feel for the footwork and glovework. Has tons of quickness in the arm. Recorded arm strength up to 90 mph on throws from the outfield. Secondary pitcher, works from a controlled delivery and pushes off the first base side of the rubber. Sits and drives well down the slope. Separates into a deep arm path before accelerating the arm into a low three-quarters slot. Fastball showed life out of the hand with good locating throughout the zone early on. Landed a more vertical curveball with some tightness to the spin. Right-handed batter, starts in an even stance with a high back elbow. Utilizes a toe-tap trigger for timing and gets connected well. Looks to create impact out front and to the pull-side. Can get too rotational at times. Projects for more power with additional strength and minor mechanical refinements. Posted an exit velocity of 89 mph. Excellent student.
