Austin Smith is a 2026 C/RHP/MIF with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Scottsdale, AZ who attends IMG Academy. Primary Catcher, featuring an athletic, strong frame. Slight side saddle set up with quick exchanges while gaining ground. Feet replace, good direction and throws stay on the bag consistently. Arm velocity at 77 with a sub 2.00 POP (1.99). Medium base at the plate with high back elbow and a short stride to contact. Front foot operation with an up the middle approach and can use the whole field. Short/tight turn into swing with a direct path and barrel control. Good Student.
