Evan Smith is a 2026 C/RHP, SS, OF with a 5-11 157 lb. frame from Desoto, TX who attends Franklin D Roosevelt. Medium,, square shouldered frame with a lean frame and room to grow and develop throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.87 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, begins with a higher set behind the plate during drills, remains tall through release, receives the ball out front, worked on top of throws down to second base. Graded out best in the infield in this look, fields the ball out front and works behind the ball, showed controlled actions on the charge, short arm action, remains tall at release. Also pitched, medium leg lift with a high hand raise at start of delivery, works to a high three-quarters release point. Worked around the zone, quick to the plate and pitched to contact; worked mostly off of fastball, topped out at 68 mph, most effective when working downhill. Right-handed hitter, begins with an open stance, long hand load back at start of swing, utilizes a high leg lift for timing in the box. Keeps hands inside the ball, full swing path through the zone and shows the ability to go to the opposite field, gets mistimed and can shorten approach for more consistency. Very good student.
