Leighton Canarelli is a 2028 OF/RHP with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Las Vegas, NV who attends Faith Lutheran. Features a medium sized athletic build that has plenty of room to add. Ran a 7.13 60-yd dash. In the OF, showed quality actions. Aggressive moves to the baseball but shows some stiffness as he works into posture/reception. Fields it clean and out front but with limited momentum created into throws. Arm works into an uphill release where he showed avg. strength for his level with 50/50 accuracy. At the plate, operates from an even/squared base. Uses a smaller lift as the hands load a vertical barrel. Shows a flatter path into contact with avg. bat/hand speed. More pull side oriented approach where he produced quality LDs/FBs into left. On the mound, showed a standard side step operation. Uses a mid-chest knee tuck and creates good engagement with his lower half before flowing down the slope where he creates good length to his stride. Showed a longer/continuous arm stroke in the back that works clean to a 3/4 release. FB worked into the mid 80s, T85 where it showed some natural running action. Mixed in a low 70s breaker that had more depth than lateral tilt. Named to Top Prospects List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
