Leighton Canarelli is a 2028 OF/RHP, SS with a 5-6 120 lb. frame from Las Vegas, NV who attends Faith Lutheran. Features smaller/lean frame. Ran a 7.84 60-yd dash. In the OF, he exhibited developing actions. Gets set into good posture but slows down into reception with some regather into his throws. Showed a longer arm action that got off lower arcing throws with quality accuracy and avg. strength for his level. In the INF, showed active feet but at times lost body control. Can make the routine play but showed some stiffness to the backhand side. Shortened up the arm action and showed avg. quickness to release. At the plate, sits in a balanced stance and uses a simple trigger. Throws the barrel on a slight uphill path with avg. bat/hand speed. Some inconsistent timing and was consistently under the baseball. Found a couple solid LDs to the pullside in his round. On the mound, he side steps into a mid chest knee tuck and gets into a smaller sit. Throws his foot down the mound for a longer stride that lands in line and finishes fall off to the 1B side of the mound. Sets some slight uphill shoulders. Longer takeaway out the glove that works continuous to release out of a normal 3/4 slot. The fastball worked up to 72 and mixed a slower slurvy breaker in the mid 60s that he had feel for and produced some whiffs with.
