Luigi Simioli is a 2028 RHP/IF with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Rancho Palos Verdes, CA who attends Palos Verdes.Features a lean athletic build with projection. Ran a 7.83 60-yd dash. In the INF, showed developing actions. Waits back a bit before working to/through the baseball. Some stab to the backhand side but solid glove actions when at-him and to the glove hand side. Avg. lateral mover and quickness. Decent charge. Used a shorter arm action that showed some stiffness but got off accurate throws across with avg. strength. At the plate, operated from an even base but sat deep into his lower half. Works the barrel on a level path through while flashing some quality bat/hand speed for his level. Produced several hard pull side liners during BP. Intent to catch it out front that showed in-game and during gameplay. Strong feel for the barrel but showed tendency to pull off a bit at times. On the mound, showed a balanced and repeatable delivery. Some drop/drive traits to the lower half working with avg. length down the mound and slightly open at landing. Medium length to the AA out the glove that pushes a bit to a normal 3/4 slot. FB worked into the low 80s that showed a bit of natural running action. Mixed in a breaking ball that varied in shape in the low 70s, one flashing 12/6 shape and another more normal SL shape. Worked quick and threw strikes. Named to Top Prospects List.
