Xayvion Cheney is a 2030 SS/RHP/UT with a 5-9 154 lb. frame from Macon, GA who attends John Milledge Academy. Medium, athletic build with plenty of physical projection remaining. 7.11 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop, works through the baseball at a deliberate pace and tends to bend at the waist when fielding it. Showed feel for adjusting the glove and covering ground in the dirt. Delivered accurate throws across the diamond up to 71 mph. Secondary pitcher, operates from a full wind-up delivery with a slower leg lift and lengthy stride into footstrike. Pushes off the first base side of the rubber. Separates into a deep arm path before accelerating into a low 3/4 arm slot. Creates good extension out front and whips the arm through nicely. Fastball ran well with sink, ultimately peaking at 82 mph. Mixed in a tight slider with late horizontal break as well. Right-handed batter, starts in a narrow, open stance with a high back elbow and high hand set-up. Utilizes a heel turn load for timing before working into a level bat path. Tends to drift his hands to the baseball. Produced softer contact to the middle of the field during batting practice when timed up. Displayed developing bat speed and barrel skills. Power will continue to improve as he adds strength and physically matures. Posted an exit velocity of 76 mph.
