2025 Trosky Showcase
Oliver Vanderpool is a 2028 SS/2B/OF with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from San Marcos, CA who attends San Marcos. Features a medium sized lean build with present athleticism and plenty of room to add strength. Ran a 7.12 60-yd dash. In the OF, showed a relaxed initial approach but eventually works with some quickness and momentum to and through reception. Mix off off-side and out front reception and showed a quick release. Medium arm stroke that got off throws with avg. strength that were 1-2 hop accurate to to the bag. In the INF, shows a good prep and intent to work through it and gain ground. Showed more foot speed and quickness on the dirt. Some developing parts to the posture and glove. Chest stays high through the actions and glove worked late at times. Extra shuffle and showed a shorter arm action for throws across with similar strength as the OF. At the plate, was relaxed in the box. Easy effort LH stroke. Sat in an even base and used a smaller stride. Hands set the barrel into a strong launch. Barrel worked short to it and on a slight uphill path out front. Inconsistent timing throughout round but when he caught it out front produced quality pull side LDs. Gets into some early pull off at times with torso/front-side.
