Itzak Mariscal is a 2027 SS/RHP with a 5-10 140 lb. frame from Chula Vista, CA who attends Otay Ranch HS. Started off the event clocking a 7.55 60-yard dash. A primary shortstop, secondary pitcher. Moves well in the infield, plays low and behind the ball well, short and compact arm action with a quick release, hands work well at the ball and fields the ball cleanly, best suited for second base at present. Right handed hitter, hits from a slightly open stance, rocks into his swing, can probably load his swing deeper for better separation and timing, should continue to improve as a hitter as he gets stronger and develops more bat speed. Also pitched, leg raise delivery, gets his upper body turned well, arm works well coming through. Fastball was in the upper 70's consistently and thrown for strikes, showed nice feel for his curveball. Good student.
