Xavier Cantrell is a 2022 SS/RHP, 3B, OF with a 5-10 210 lb. frame from Remington, IN who attends Tri-County Middle/Senior. Medium frame with a stocky, compact build showing strength throughout the frame. Ran a 8.31 second sixty yard dash. Primary Shortstop, good first step instincts as he proved to have lateral range. Plays the baseball out front as he scoops it up with confidence. Long arm action as he made sure to throw it with carry across the diamond. Accurate around the bag as he threw it 77 mph. Secondary Right-Handed Pitcher, utilized a simple operation as he stayed balanced throughout. Drop and drive mechanics before releasing from a three-quarter arm slot. Held runners on well out of the stretch with a quick slide step. Fastball up to 77 mph and mixed in a breaking ball with depth that he landed for strides. Right-Handed Hitter, starting even with high hands behind the ear. Active hands as he shows some bat waggle before working into a toe tap to stride. Downhill swing path as he looked to drive it to all fields. Looked to drive the baseball on the ground. Good Student.
