Romolo "Romy" Decenzo is a 2026 C/RHP/1B with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Atherton, CA who attends IMG Academy. Solid frame with present strength and plenty of room to add more physicality over time. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.44 seconds. Primary position catcher, working from a slightly open traditional stance and gaining ground with feet in transition. Accurate glove work with clean midline transfer at the chest. Appropriately short arm action working from the ear with a deliberate overall release process. Generated feeds up to 78 mph with a pop time best 1.95 seconds accurately around the bag. RHH working from a wider, slightly open stance using small negative move as he loads into the backside pre-pitch. Moves to the front side before launch and uses flat handset movement to trigger the hands. Some length in the front arm and worked the bottom of the ball early in round. Got on time and on plane later and peppered hard line drives gap to gap from there. Ball gets off the barrel well and shows feel for impact when in the opposite field gap. Elite student as well.
