Brooks Blanchard is a 2029 SS/RHP/OF with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Greer, SC who attends Eastside. Long and lean athletic build with tons of physical projection remaining. Left handed hitter, sets up in a medium stance with a small hanging front leg load, high back elbow load, well connected swing with bat speed and lift, swings hard and really impacts the ball, pull to mid field contact, crushed some balls with authority, very high ceiling as a hitter. 7.02 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop with sound fundamentals and athleticism throughout the fielding process. Uses long strides to move laterally to either side, while displaying a clean funnel and proper footwork. Works downhill and through the baseball with urgency, produced accurate throws up to 87 mph across the diamond. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked from an abbreviated windup with a short side-step into a higher leg lift and good lower half movements down the slope. Fastball worked in the low-to-mid 80s for the majority of his outing and peaked at 85 mph from a lower three-quarters arm slot. Produces heavy arm-side run to the fastball, added and subtracted with a two-seamer and showed feel for spin with firmer slider up to 76 mph (2672 RPMs). Completed his three-pitch mix with a replicated change that has natural fade and depth to it. Excellent student. Named to play in the Perfect Game 14U Select Festival.
