Gustavo Navejas is a 2027 1B/RHP/3B with a 6-3 241 lb. frame from Giddings, TX who attends Giddings. Large, broad shouldered frame with present strength proportioned throughout. Ran a 7.77 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, moves well around the bag and shows balanced footwork on the spin play, can change slot with intent and smoothness on release, shorter arm action on accurate throws across the diamond. Short footwork in the infield, profiles on corner, can drop slot on the charge play, some lateral agility. Also pitched, works exclusively out of the stretch, quick and low leg lift at start of delivery just below belt, lands closed with strike foot coming down the mound. Fastball topped out at 83 mph, shows running life through the zone and filled up the strike zone well, more velo in the tank. Short slider up to 75 mph proved effective and turns over a changeup with fading life at 73 mph. Right-handed hitter, begins with a low back elbow in the box, slight coil at top of load. Utilizes a short stride moving into contact, clears hips well and incorporates physical strength. Strong hands, can go with the pitch the other way, big juice off of the barrel to all fields, solid present bat speed and will continue to unlock even more moving forward.
