Riley Steward is a 2027 2B/RHP, OF with a 5-8 150 lb. frame from Fresno, CA who attends Home Instruction. Features a medium-sized frame that has some present strength. In the INF, he has solid fundamentals with his glove/hands where he worked into good posture and displayed them low and out front. Developing feel to the backhand side. Footwork was avg. showing some slow down into reception. Arm action was shorter in the back that worked up to 70 mph across with easy effort showing more in the tank. At the plate, he sits in a balanced slightly open stance. Loads early using a smaller leg lift gather with some rhythm to the hands. Has a clean stroke that works on a slight uphill path through flashing some barrel quickness. There’s some present drift into contact and flashes a kickback with his lower half. Best contact was to the middle of the field where has some inside-out ability to his hands. On the mound, it’s a simple/efficient operation that he repeated well. Uses his lower half well with a clean/continuous arm action to release at a ¾ slot. Ran his fastball up to 76 that he located well to all quadrants. Mixed in a 11-5 breaker in the low 60s that showed quality downward shape.
