Colton Colleran is a 2023 SS/RHP with a 5-8 145 lb. frame from Mashpee, MA who attends Mashpee. Recorded a 7.04 second sixty-yard dash time. Smaller, compact frame with a high waist, square shoulders and plenty of room to physically mature. Primary shortstop, active footwork, stays low throughout the fielding process, works downhill with a clean funnel out in front and gets rid of the baseball quickly. Displayed good lateral range to both sides, lower 3/4's arm slot to throw, recorded arm strength up to 76 mph across the diamond. Secondary right-handed pitcher; full windup delivery with side-step rocker into a lower, coiled leg lift and shorter stride out to foot strike. Proficient strike thrower from a deceptive low 3/4's arm slot that creates tons of natural arm-side run, missing barrels often and garnering plenty of weak contact. Mixed in sweeping breaking ball that has 10-5 shape to it and tons of horizontal action to it. Fastball worked in the low-70s for the duration of his outing and topped out at 74 mph in this look. Right-handed hitter that hits from a spread, slightly open stance with a high hand set, low back elbow and toe-tap trigger. Hands oriented swing with rotational lower half mechanics, flatter swing path and occasional line drive impact to the middle and pull-side. Will continue to improve with mechanical refinements to his skill set and additional strength as he matures. Excellent Student.
