2025 PG Lone Star Showcase
Maxwell Fears is a 2027 SS/RHP/OF with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Prosper, TX who attends Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes. Lean athletic build with lots of room to get stronger. 6.61 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense, has quick feet and good lateral range, soft hands fielding the ball, adjusted his arm slot well, tends to shuffle into his throws and can quicken his release. Also worked out in the outfield, was aggressive to the ball and made accurate throws from an over the top arm slot, can see this playing in center field with his speed and athleticism. Took a turn on the mound, has a slow and well controlled wind up with a standard 3/4's arm slot and action. Fastball topped out at 83 mph and was located well around the zone with some late sink and run. Had good feel for adding and subtracting from his curveball and changing shapes, created some swing and miss on his curveball. Excellent student. Named to the PG Lone Star Showcase Top Prospect List.
