2025 PG Class of 2028 All-American Games
Jaxon Herod is a 2028 SS/RHP/2B with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Etta, MS who attends West Union Attendance Center. Long and lanky athletic build with lots of physical projection remaining. Primary shortstop on defense, has good rhythm to his actions with smooth and fluid footwork, clean glove to his back hand, plenty of arm strength across from a 3/4's slot, has the actions and athleticism to stay at shortstop moving forward. Has run a 6.84 at a PG showcase this summer. Left handed hitter, sets up in an upright stance with a high hand load, limited lower half shift into his swing, rotational upper half mechanics, middle of the field line drive approach with some ability to drive the pull side gap, projects well as a hitter. Also pitched, works from the stretch from the first base side, long stride down the mound with a 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 87 mph with good downhill plane and sink. Created some spin on his curveball when he got on top of it, tended to drop his arm slot on a fading change up. Very good student. Named to the PG Class of 2028 All-American Games Top Prospect List.
